Eurotrial 2025 Raisio Finland 18.7-20.7 2025

Eurotrial 2025 offroad competition culminated successfully in Raisio

The Eurotrial off-road car competition took place at the Raisio race track last weekend, 19-20 July 2025. The race area in Raisio was already in full swing on Friday 18 July, as the best off-roaders prepared to fight for the European Championship. The most enthusiastic spectators arrived at the area on Friday to watch the test section. The competition weekend was kicked off with a parade that passed through the market area. All cars and drivers were introduced in the parade.

On Saturday and Sunday, the European Championship was contested in the following classes: Prototype, Modified, Promodified, Standard, Original and UTV. There were 10 sections in the area, of which eight were pre-determined for each class. Competitors gathered from fifteen different countries, some as early as Monday when the pit opened. Some of the competitors arrived with only maintenance people, while others brought a larger cheering crowd. The pit area accommodated almost 500 people. A sense of community and a happy atmosphere was evident throughout the week.

On Saturday 19 July, the Eurotrial race was bustling with staff, car teams and media representatives – not to mention the audience, who created a unique atmosphere for the competition. The competition started early in the morning at 8:00. One of the drivers was Mika Niinimäki, who, together with his co-driver Jarno Puumalainen, drove the MBG 500 car for the Finnish team. This is how Niinimäki described the first day of competition:

“The performances have gone quite well. I just made a mistake myself, but otherwise everything has gone well. We are continuing the race weekend in a good mood. There has been a little bit of a problem with the car, but it doesn’t seem to bother. Let’s hope our car lasts until tomorrow.”

In addition to the ride, there was a lot to see and experience in the area for the public: a restaurant, kiosks, sausages, soft drinks and metrilaku. Merch products were sold at the Työvaate Nieminen container. 4Wheeling presented its activities in its tent, which includes social media content about Offroad and off-road driving. The presentation included their equipment and a throwing game, which won prizes. The information point also had a wheel of fortune sponsored by Salhydro.

The Eurotrial 2025 competition culminated on Sunday 20 July when the European champions were crowned at the Raisio Motor Circuit. Raisio’s rocky terrain offered plenty of challenge and variety for the visiting car teams.

The Eurotrial race went as planned. The event’s track master Jarko Mäkelä commented on the course of the race as follows:

“We kept to the schedule and the tracks were suitably challenging. The competitors have given positive feedback about the tracks. Cars overturned and broke down, but not too many. Fortunately, there were no injuries. We also had a good amount of audience.”

Safety Manager Saana Raessuo added:

“Despite the heat, it has been nice to organize the competition with a competent team.”

During the weekend, there were about 800 paying spectators, in addition to children under 12 who had free entry. There were a wide range of target and age groups at the venue, from a couple of months old to slightly older spectators. Throughout the day, it was nice to observe the good mood of the audience and their enthusiasm for offroad and motorsport.

Raision Urheiluautoiljat ry would like to warmly thank all of the staff members – without their contribution the event would not have been successful. The support of the Eurotrial committee and the enthusiastic spirit of the Team Leaders contributed to the smoothly running competition.
